Dr. Lars Sondergaard joined ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ as divisional vice president, medical affairs and chief medical officer for the company’s structural heart division in 2023. In this role, he leads the global medical affairs organization for the business and provides clinical and scientific leadership for ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ.
Dr. Sondergaard has over 30 years of experience in the practice of medicine, specializing in congenital and structural heart disease. Prior to ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, he was a consultant cardiologist and professor of cardiology at the Rigshospitalet and University of Copenhagen in Denmark.
He has published more than 600 peer-reviewed articles and 15 textbook chapters, and is highly respected as a global key opinion leader within the structural heart community. His accomplishments include leading numerous first-in-human transcatheter interventions.
Dr. Sondergaard holds a doctorate degree in medicine from the University of Copenhagen.
